ABOUT MICHELE
Michele Annette Lapenna
The middle child of three, she grew up in the Villeray district of Montreal during the 50’s where she spent numerous hours at the local library reading the adventures of “Babar The Elephant” and “Tintin” her most loved adventure “The Secret Of The Unicorn.”
Her love for books especially children’s books followed her into adult life where she enjoyed a sales career with Scholastic Canada and Child’s Play Canada. She promoted books that were fun to read and had to include an educational element which she considered to be fundamental to the learning process. Her stories are based on that concept and provide adventure & fantasy and are specifically directed at Middle Grade Readers.

Michele graduated from Notre Dame Ladies College in the early 1960’s and started her work career at Ronald’s Federated Press where she met her husband Tony and they married during Expo 67. She later attended Seneca College in Toronto where she acquired a business certification in marketing and finance.

As a mother of three adult children and grandmother to six, she started writing her first story during the recent pandemic. Her stories are based on fun memories of her children growing up and more recently of her grandchildren. Summers were filled with treasures hunts, badminton tournaments, water games and back yard BBQ’s.
Scylla the Elusive Squid & the Blue Stone is her first book in a series of four, which feature Jake & Max in various adventures involving the Mysterious Blue Stone.
